Schlock-Wire: Shout Factory Unleashes A Double Feature Of DIRTY MARY, CRAZY LARRY And RACE WITH THE DEVIL In April
Two of the all-time great car-chase epics of the 1970's are about to race back onto DVD thanks to the good folks at Shout! Factory. Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry is being paired with Race With The Devil on a Peter Fonda-centric two-for-one disc that will be hitting the stores in April. The first film is a great "antiheroes versus the cops" flick starring Peter Fonda, Susan George and Vic Morrow while the second pairs Fonda with Warren oates as it crossbreeds the car-chase flick with 1970's-style Satanic horror to create a very distinctive hybrid. Larry (Peter Fonda) is a former NASCAR racer looking to score some quick cash. Mary (Susan George) is a sexy groupie aching to take a fast ride. Together with mechanic Deke (Adam Roarke), they pull off a cold-blooded supermarket heist and hit the highway in Dirty Mary Crazy Larry. Now there is a maniacal lawman (Vic Morrow) on their trail, an entire police force in pursuit and hundreds of miles of roadblocks between their ’69 Charger and freedom.
