Schlock-Wire: Shout Factory Blesses Home Video With DVD of MONSIGNOR On January 31st
Here's some news for camp movie aficionados: Shout! Factory is bringing out an overlooked example of the form on January 31st when they release Monsignor. This unilikely Christopher Reeve vehicle presents everyone's favorite Superman as a corrupt priest who works his way up the Vatican ladder as he teams up with the Mafia and sleeps with a woman (Genevieve Bujold) on her way to the convent. It was directed by Frank Perry, who has many great films like David & Lisa to his credit but is also known for the camp classic Mommie Dearest. It will be presented in a new anamorphic transfer.
