Schlock-Wire: Review Roundup For OVERLAPPING SCENARIOS, A Short Film Written By The Mind Behind Schlockmania
This week saw the public release of the short film Overlapping Scenarios on Vimeo. I wrote and co-produced this 25-minute effort, in which I and director Eduardo Miyar tried to combine old-fashioned storytelling values with a kind of postmodern playfulness as well as nods to The Twilight Zone and Videodrome. I'm proud of the results and am trying to get it out to as many people as possible. I sent it to a few online review outlets and am glad to note that the response has been pretty positive. Check out the following roundup of reviews for more...Nathaniel Thompson at Mondo Digital had this to say: "an unsettling and spookily open-ended genre smorgasbord that leaves a creepy chill after the closing credits roll"William Wilson at Video Junkie offers the following thoughts: "Cleverly plays with some of the cliches we see in genre cinema and tricks the viewer on several occasions."Ian Jane at Rock! Shock! Pop! dished out the following opinion: "Twenty-five minutes of good suspense... kind of reminded me of a TWILIGHT ZONE episode."We also got a mention by Chris Poggiali at Temple Of Schlock, who was kind enough to repost the film and mention the good digital ink we got at Mondo Digital. You can check out his post by clicking here. While I'm writing this, I'd like to offer anyone interested the opportunity to check out Overlapping Scenarios without leaving this page. If you want to sample the experience before diving into the full story, here is our trailer:

If you like what you see, please feel free to share the film wherever you like: both the trailer and the film are hosted at Vimeo and they offer easy sharing options for email and a variety of social network platforms. Like I said before, we're trying to get this to as many people as possible: it's a non-profit venture that we're putting out there as a calling card and the one real reward we get is for people to see it. If you like what you see, please give it a share - it will earn you the eternal appreciation of Schlockmania.
