Here's some long-awaited news for fans of small-screen police procedurals: Police Story, the platinum standard of the genre, is finally making its debut on DVD. Shout Factory will release a box set of the show's first season on September 6th. For those not familiar with the title, Police Story was the creation of legendary author Joseph Wambaugh and was an anthology show that brought previously unseen amounts of realism and psychology to the genre. This disc will collect all of the Season 1 episodes plus the show's pilot film, Slow Boy, and will also feature extras that involve show creator Wambaugh.
