Schlock-Wire: New Reissue Label Purpose Music Vaults Revives Bobby Womack and Ronnie Dyson Classics
And now, some good news for fans of vintage soul music. A new label called Purpose Music Vaults has started up and it is issuing its first pair of CD reissues this month, Pieces by Bobby Womack and One Man Band by Ronnie Dyson. The former is a lost gem from the late 1970's that includes cameos from David Ruffin and Candi Staton while the latter pairs a classic sweet soul singer with Philly Soul producer Thom Bell (in his early 1970's prime, no less). Each disc will feature a new set of liner notes with interviews, fresh remastering and a variety of bonus tracks. Read on for all the R&B revival details...
